ABOUT US

1 in 6 Americans are living in poverty

1 in 3 Americans live below 150% of the poverty guidelines

If faced with a civil legal issue, few can afford an attorney

While law firms are vital advocates for those in need, the complexity and risk associated with managing and maintaining a pro bono practice makes it difficult for firms to sustain, much less increase their commitment.

In keeping with its mission to increase access to justice, Pro Bono Net, with initial support from The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and The Booth Ferris Foundation, developed Pro Bono Manager™, the only practice management tool engineered to help leading law firms do more good.

Pro Bono Manager™ enables Pro Bono Coordinators to manage their practices efficiently and effectively. And, with integrated access to the Pro Bono Net community, Pro Bono Manager™ connects lawyers to resources and opportunities that align with their passions and personal interests.

MORE MOST BE DONE

While at least 40% of low and moderate-income households experience a legal problem each year, civil legal aid efforts are meeting only about 20% of the legal needs of low-income people.

-American Bar Association

Increasing poverty, coupled with decreased funding for legal services, means that millions of people are forced to navigate an often-incomprehensible judicial system with no help at all.

The societal cost of failing to address this problem includes increased homelessness, unemployment, families broken apart, and even the risk of injury or death. Clearly, the need for legal services among the poor is overwhelming and more must be done.

PRO BONO NET

Since its founding in 1999, the non-profit Pro Bono Net has sought to bridge the justice gap by empowering those who serve to make a difference and those in need to improve their lives. Justice should not be a privilege.
